How it’s caused
Motor neurone disease is a rare, progressive disease that affects the nerves in the brain and spinal cord that supply the muscles of the body. This leads to a number of symptoms including:
- Muscle spasm (spasticity)
- Muscle weakness
- Decreased sensation.
- Problems with breathing
- Difficulties with mobility & other activities
- Difficulties with balance
- Problems with speech, swallow & concentration
- Pain
- Fatigue
